5 Minute Quickie Makeup For The Summer.

Summer. A season that brings to mind images of bright and sunny days, pristine white beaches and vibrant colors. It’s also a time that makeup wearing ladies are reminded of the fact that the only thing worse than melting ice-cream on a hot summer day is makeup melting on their faces, especially after they have spent an eternity putting it on. (A true horror story if there was one.) We feel you, ladies!

And since summer is here in full swing, we have decided to put together a makeup look that you can achieve with a minimum of fuss without worrying about it melting off or smudging on your face. The best part is that you can do it all in under 5minutes. So here goes…

Step #1: Take a few drops of a cucumber based (cooling) toner on a cotton pad and dab your face with it. (Time needed-30secs.)  (We are assuming that you are fresh out of the shower and have therefore adequately cleansed your face. 😉 )

Tip- Store your toner in the refrigerator. Not only does it refresh your face, it closes your pores all the better.

Step #2: Moisturize you skin with a light weight moisturizer that is best suited for your skin type. (Time needed-30secs.)

Leave it to absorb into your skin for 2-3 minutes, while you get started on your hair.

Pro Tip– Those who want a bit more coverage can opt for a tinted moisturizer with an SPF. (Skip Step #3 in this case.)

Step #3: The only product you want to slather on your skin in summer is a sunscreen. Pick a product that suits your skin type, is light and has a non-greasy formula with an SPF of 30 at the least. Let it sink into your skin for 2-3 minutes. (Remember that half-done hair?? Finish it!) Take a tissue and blot any excess shine/product from your face.  (Time needed-45secs.)

Pro Tip- Spot Conceal: (Optional step for those with blemishes.) After using the tinted moisturizer, Use a thick pan based concealer directly on any spots or blemishes that you may have to conceal them. (Time needed-45secs.)

Step #4: Powder: Dust some loose translucent powder on your face. It helps in setting the concealer and removing any residual greasiness from your face. Those of you who have used the tinted moisturizer and want a dewy look can opt for a fine dusting of powder only your t-zone. (Time needed- 30secs.)

Step #5: Blush/Bronzer: Use a Peach/Pink toned blusher on the apple on your cheeks for that natural glow. If you prefer the sun-kissed look you can also lightly bronze your cheeks and forehead. (Time Needed-30secs.)

Step #6: Mascara: You can totally skip the eye liner and use water-resistant mascara to enhance your lashes. Nothing brightens up your eyes like mascara does.  (Time needed- 1min.)

Step #7: Lips: Use a tinted lip balm with SPF to keep your lips hydrated and to add a bit of color to your pout.  (Time needed- 10secs)

There you have it. Makeup for a hot summer day in less than 5 minutes. Easy, wasn’t it? Do try it and let us know what you think.
